How do you know it’s summertime? Is it the picnics in the park? How about catching up with your friends on a garden terrace over coffees or perhaps a freshly baked breakfast spread fit for an Instagram Queen?
We knew it was summertime when our chefs began to handpick ingredients, collaborating to craft together our eclectic menu, representing quintessential French with homage to traditional British dishes. The bespoke new menu is for all to enjoy has debuted as The Edition, a menu created with a passion for traditional breakfasts with a twist, summer salads as well as gorgeous wine and cocktail coolers in mind.
What’s new to The Edition menu? Let’s start by tucking in for breakfast. Pamper your ultimate morning cravings with a stack of Buttermilk Pancakes, choosing from banana, walnut praline and salted caramel sauce; bacon, banana and maple syrup; or fresh fruit, crème fraiche and toasted granola. Perhaps you’re more of a French Toast in the morning type of person? Our chefs have created the French Toast Croissant, our Rouge twist on the classic, served warm with walnut praline, crème fraiche and honey.
It doesn’t stop there. We have created our soon to be famous, Crème Brulee Granola, which includes layered fresh fruit, granola, and crème fraiche with a caramelised top. Whoever said you can have too much of a good thing has truly never tried our new breakfast collection. We’ve definitely been converted into morning people!
Pop in for a leisurely afternoon or evening spent at Café Rouge wining and dining. Why not treat yourself to a glass of our Pigalle Brut sparkling wine bubbles alongside our Charolais steaks. All of our steaks come from the premium Charolais breed, British beef, grass and grain fed, by our trusted farmers for fantastic flavour, taste and texture. Choose from our range of 5-15oz steaks or whet your appetite with our sharing steaks, 32oz Cote De Boeuf, dry-aged for a minimum of 35 days. This beautifully butterflied rib steak, served on the bone is also known as a ‘bull’s head’. The sharing steak is presented on a sharing platter with two sides and two sauces of your choice, but we absolutely recommend our Bordelaise or Merlot gravy to complete your meal.
If you’re in the mood for something lighter, our freshly prepared vibrant salads are the ultimate celebration for your taste buds. Our bright Bistro salad with baby gem, tomatoes, green lentils, chicory, watercress, radish, Roquitto chilli drops and garden peas with smoky beetroot dressing or the Nicoise, ‘hot smoked’ salmon, French beans, baby gem, red onion, tomatoes, Nicoise olives and free-range egg with French vinaigrette.
What makes us love this menu even more? We’ve come up with the ultimate sharing coolers for post-work catch up with your best friends. Our bartenders certainly know how to showcase their knowledge for a tipple with our recommended coolers. Choices include our Fizz La Poire, Absolut Pears Vodka, cloudy apple juice, elderflower and lemonade or the divine Summer Cooler, crafted using Lillet and tonic with fresh strawberries and cucumber, to name a few. As well as a range of brand new mocktails, such as our Marseille Mule created with ginger beer, lime juice and bitters and French Garden Fizz, with elderflower petal, fresh mint, lemon and lime juice. Deliciously refreshing and perfect for toasting to fabulous summer days!
Of course, we wouldn’t let you leave without something sweet. We can’t stop raving about our incredible new summer desserts menu. Our Tarte Tatin, French apple tart with hazelnut crunch and tarte tatin ice cream is a favourite, alongside our Eton Mess, including fresh raspberries and strawberries with vanilla ice cream, strawberry sorbet, crushed meringue and strawberry coulis. We also have the perfect thing for when you’re craving chocolate, our Fondant Aux Chocolats is just what you need. This hot chocolate fondant with a melting middle served with chocolate and raspberry fondant ice cream is what our summer dreams are made of.
